DAVID S. PATTERSON
Dave has been practicing law in Alberta now for over 30 years. He obtained his Bachelor of Commerce degree at the University of Alberta in 1984 before being admitted to the University of Alberta’s Faculty of Law. After obtaining his LLB here in 1987 he began his practice of law and was admitted to the Alberta Bar in 1988. He worked at the law firm of Corbett and Company for ten years, followed by another two years with Parlee McLaws prior to his decision to open his own law firm. He has been a sole practitioner at Patterson Family Law since July 1999.
Dave has extensive experience at all levels of Court in Alberta, specializing for most of those years in Family Law. Although his practice is centered on Family Law, he has extensive experience as well in the areas of Residential Real Estate transactions and Wills and Estates. He has received training in mediation and has been able to utilize those skills to offer his clients more and better options to meet their needs.
Patterson Family Law Office, Edmonton is a family business with Dave’s wife Jeannette, a Paralegal in all three areas of practice, and his niece Natalie a full time legal secretary with the firm.
Dave and Jeannette are the parents of four children and three grandchildren and are both actively involved in their community and in various positions within the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Dave has served as a Scout Leader for almost 20 years and has coached several sports at the community, club and school levels.
